Fall into Fall 2012

Saturday was the first official day of fall, but due to my hectic schedule of "life" - I wasn't able to trek out into the woods for a bit to celebrate the first day of fall until today (Sunday) at Robertsville State Park... and as always... it's those little details that make me love fall so much.

"Autumn is a second spring when every leaf is a flower."  ~ Albert Camus
"There is a harmony in autumn, and a luster in its sky, which through the summer is not heard or seen, as if it could not be, as if it had not been!"  ~ Percy Bysshe Shelley
"Everyone must take time to sit and watch the leaves turn."  ~ Elizabeth Lawrence

  1. The second image is my favorite, and the one I find to be the most striking. I love the marriage of the shadows and light, and I think it has a great balance of hardness and softness. It remind me of black and white photography (of which I'm a huge fan), especially with the depth of the shadows, but with perfect color placement added. And honestly, it just makes me feel good to look at it! : )

    1. Thanks for your entry Laine. I learned on B & W (old school I know!) but I think learning that way before jumping to color helped me undestand contast and the importance it holds.. :)

  2. The second entry is my favorite, i like the single focus point and the blacked/blurred back ground. I like the lines and the color. Its simple, yet interesting to the eye..It looks like something I would have taken a photo of!

  8. Personally, I like the 4th image. The blues and greens seem particularly vibrant!
